I was fooling around with "filters" and came up with a colored pencil image. Cool, huh?

Happy New Year
I was bustling about the house this morning thinking about it being the end of the year with tomorrow bringing a clean slate like the whiteness of the snow that was glistening out the window. My thoughts ran wild with ideas of what I would be doing in the new year since my job at Patches and Pieces had ended so abruptly. I sat down at the computer and routinely clicked on the family blog to see if there were any reports of Christmas activities. Words in a blog--simple and direct--brought me out of my stupor and changed the direction of my jumbled thoughts. "Well, I don't know if you knew, but I was in a rollover on Monday morning!" I sat bolt upright and read it three times. Without thinking, I scrolled down the page, enjoying the images of two beautiful granddaughters, then stopped. The next image was simply a cute little hand with a marble balanced on a finger trying to get it placed between two small toes. The tears made a trail down my cheeks and splashed on the keyboard. I said a silent prayer, "Thank you, Heavenly Father, for letting Michael keep his mommy". Taylor, you have truly been a bright spot in our family with your contagious enthusiasm and I don't know what we would ever do without you. As a matter of fact, what would I ever do without the whole bunch of you? You are all the joy in my life and nothing else really matters. I can only ask that those guardian angels will continue to watch over each and every one of you throughout the coming year. Happy New Year to all of you. Mom

Roll-over
Well I'm not sure if all of you have heard yet, but I rolled my jeep on Monday morning. No, Michael was not with me. Fortunately I had just dropped him off at the sitters house and was heading to work. Yes, I'm fine. I hit my head and have a bump. My arm is sore and bruised and I got a few cuts on my hand from all the glass. Now I know the next question is, "What??? How did you do that??" I was getting on the freeway at 400 south. I was going a little too fast and my back tires spun out and I always hit the breaks. I know you aren't supposed to, but it is just a reflex. So, I was whipped around and went over the edge. I hit a tree, and then rolled. It all happened so fast, one second I'm spinning and the next I'm sitting at the bottom of the hill. A very nice gentleman came running over to me to make sure I was ok, and he called the police. I immediately called Brendon, and since I was about half a mile from his work, he got there pretty fast. Well I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm ok. I just need a new vehicle now. :) Thank you all for your concern!!! I was very lucky!!

Rookie Photographer
Tonight was the first time I acted as the official Grapevine basketball photographer. I've included my favorite of the bunch. Prior to tonights game, Grapevine followed a distinct trend. If Jared scored 10 or more points, Grapevine won. If Jared scored less than 10 points, Grapevine lost. Their record before tonights game was 7 wins, 3 losses. Tonight, the trend was broken. Despite Jared's 10 points, Grapevine lost. We played a good team. Jared played well. I took pictures of the varsity game. I have about 6 that are usable for the end of season banquet. At this rate, I'll have to take pictures at every home game. Hopefully, I'll get better.
