Another Home makeover.
This time it is our home for a change. We ordered the new washer and dryer and a fridge from Home Depot. They had a great sale going after Thanksgiving. I surprised Marilee with the cabinets. I worked on them while she was up staying with Brendon and Taylor. I chose rustic cherry for the wood and just sprayed a clear finish on it. It will darked in time to a deeper cherry color. I want to continue on with the rest of the kitchen like Mom does with hers and that is our eventual plan. She is very excited about the new LG appliances. HD was selling them a 5 dollars over cost during that sale is what the delivery guy was telling us. The prices have doubled since the sale. So here is a picture of the almost finished product.

Tonight's sunset
Mother Nature has been giving us a "show" every night. This one was shot just about fifteen minutes ago.

Ice storm in North Carolina
I've never seen an ice storm and so it was that I found myself in Christi's back yard with my camera in hand. It was amazing and doesn't adequately show up in pictures. Everything was encased in ice and it lasted most of the day.

Uncle Alan
Uncle Alan's motor cycle was a matter of conversation as it was artistically displayed at the entrance of the church at the time of his viewing and funeral. It brought tears to everybody's eyes as they entered the church. This motor cycle was just as much a part of Alan as were his clothes and boots.

Winter scene
We took a nice little hike on the grounds of a local estate that is open to tourists. It was beautiful, even in the winter.
