One Million Records

Today, October 25, 2013,  I submitted my ONE MILLIONTH record, having been index/arbitrating for some six or seven years.  Not too bad for an eighty year old lady.  I'm not sure if I will shoot for two million, but why not?

Meeting Malfoy's alter ego

One of Amanda's best friends had a birthday this past week.  Like the rest of us, Casey is a huge Harry Potter fan.  More specifically, she has a fan crush on Tom Felton.  As luck would have it, Tom was in town this weekend attending a Comic Convention.  He had a photo session scheduled for early afternoon.  As a birthday present, Amanda thought it would be fun to take her friend to the convention to meet Tom and to have her picture taken with him.  Of course fifteen year olds can't drive themselves to events such as this, so I got drafted to take them.  I had heard that some people dress up for this type of a convention, but I was ill-prepared for what we would experience.  All I can say is, WOW.  People take comics and characters and celebrities WAY too seriously.  We saw fans dressed up in full blown outfits such as spider man, superman, wonder woman, storm troopers, any Star Wars character you can think of, batman, batwoman.  At one point, I thought we were in a spandex convention.  Dressed up fans were taking pictures of and with other dressed up fans.  I must say many of the adult women could benefit from a conference talk on modesty.  I digress..

To purchase the photo op with Tom, we had to stand in line for quite some time.  When we turned the corner so we could see the final portion of the line, an usher said, "who is here to take a picture with Tom Felton".  About 80% of the line raised their hands.  The usher said, "Wow, he must be HOT".  There were a few ooh's and aaah's in agreement.  Once we purchased the ticket, we had to wait in another line.  We finally got our turn and both Mandy and Casey took their picture with Tom.  The time was brief, but Tom "made eye contact" with Mandy and greeted them warmly.  The girls were a little star struck and couldn't muster much of a reply.  We had to wait for an hour for the picture to be developed.  I tried talking the girls into checking out the rest of the convention.  They were there for one purpose and one purpose only.  We sat down and watched people for an hour, which by the way, was highly entertaining!

And yes, Mandy is taller than Malfoy.

The Randall Three

We had fun taking pictures for the Randall Family.  This one turned out well.
