Edinburgh Castle

The castle from down below. With most of the castle surrounded by cliffs it was almost impossible to penetrate.

Looking down from the castle walls. That's the little green park we saw on the first day.  Remember when I said that the chamber pots were emptied into the close that drained into the lake? That's where the lake used to be. Maybe that's whey it's so green. . .

The castle was built right onto the rock. You almost can't tell where the original rock stops and the castle walls begin.

A 17th century pet cemetery inside the castle walls.

Inside the castle. Everything has so much detail. Next door to this building is where Mary Queen of Scots gave birth to King James the VI and I. He was the first person to be king of England and Scotland at the same time. That's why is was the VI and I.
